SS20F - Solar station

Solar Powered Radio RTU System

The SS20F is packaged system consisting of a radio transmitter-receiver, RTU, omnidirectional radio antenna, 10-watt solar power panel, electronic power regulators for station supply and battery charging, and rechargeable battery: pre-assembled on a mast mounting head. It is ideal for applications such as remote monitoring of groundwater level, flow rate, and water level; or for management of pressurecontrolled elevated tanks. The average current consumption of the entire station is only about 4 mA, and the solar power panel is over-sized by about 100% for this load.

Inputs / outputs: The RTU has 2 analog inputs (0- or 4-20mA), 4 pulse inputs (up to 10 Hz. switching rate), 4 on-off status inputs, and 2 onoff switching outputs. The analog inputs support0- / 4-20mA loop-powered sensors / transmitters compatible with loop voltage of 11 VDC or more.

Data-logging mode: The data-logging capabilities of the SS20F allow it to store 4 weeks' readings when set for reading at 15 minute intervals. The stored data can be read by the central monitoring station in blocks of up to 8 records per message frame.

On-line mode: In this mode of operation, input readings (on-off states, pulse rates, and analog values) are transmitted by the SS20F immediately. This mode is used where real-time monitoring or control is involved: e.g., elevated tank level control.

ransmitting intervals: The SS20F can be set for transmitting at intervals of 5, 10, 15, 30, or 60 minutes. It switches automatically to radio communication mode at the end of each successive time interval and transmits the data it currently holds, whether logged or on-line.
